  • Winter Wonderland

Yay new post!!  Wait, it is 6 in the morning.  Why am I posting at such a crazy time??  Well basically I got to enjoy the less fun side of snow tonight/this morning.  Here is the story.

So after work I headed over to a friends house to play his new board game.  We have been running trial and error games quite a bit lately.  Most of the time they usually take quite awhile because we still have to pause and discuss matters related to the game.  Tonight we didn't get started till quite late cause we had to reprint/remake a bunch of cards for the game.  When all was said and done we finished around 2:20.  Now any logical person would have just opted to crash at his place for the night and deal with heading home in the morning, but you see we aren't always the most logical bunch.  So we all trecked outside and proceeded to survey the depth of the snow and whether we could get out.  After some shoveling and pushing we got the first guy (in a rear wheel drive old truck) on his way home.  Next came the mini van, saturn and me.  Once we got them all pointed in the right direction the two guys who did decide to stay, gave us a push and a good luck.  About a block down the road I hit nicely plowed road.  Smooth sailing....until I came to my home street.  It wasn't plowed.  I tried to turn in and get momentum, but that got me about 5 inches.  Luckily a guy with a plow on his truck came and gave me a good push, this got me about 100 feet.  At this point I am not about to give up, so close yet so far away.  I ran home and grabbed a shovel.  I got a good track cleared and was tried moving, no luck.  Oddly enough I was stuck outside my youngest sister's friends house.  I thought, hey I can pull in here for the night and come in the morning when the plows have cleared.  We no sooner had I got their driveway cleared, the plow came rolling by.  He cleared everything for me, so now I just had to get my car unstuck.  Once that was finished, I drove the rest of the way to my driveway only to hit a new snag.  The plow had only cleared half the street...the side opposite my driveway.  After another lengthy shoveling job I finally cleared a path to my parking spot and gave it a shot.  Again I got stuck, but this time all I had to do was clear a small bit more snow to free the tire and get a good running head start up the driveway.  Success!!  3 hours later, I was finally home and parked.  Now I am thoroughly wasted of energy, yet still pumping lots of adrenaline, and don't know when I will be able to fall asleep.

  • Pain makes the man....right?

Well, today I had my wisdom teeth pulled.  It was a rather interesting experience.  I think the surgeon and his nurses were toying with me when they hooked me up to the heart rate machine.  They kept fretting over it and whether or not it was working.  They putsed around with it for a few minutes and kept pushing buttons and say things like "oh what did I do now?"  haha.  Then they gave me the gas and I slowly slipped away into lala land.  I woke up and wasn't sure if they were finishing up or it I wasn't supposed to be awake.  Then a few minutes (I think) later they started to wake me up.  Within about 5 minutes I felt pretty normal.  They wheeled me out to the lobby in a wheelchair to my mom.  I wrote them a note and asked for my teeth.  They went back and got them for me.  As the nurse came back out into the lobby she found me reading the sports section.  This shocked her.  I guess reading 10 minutes after waking up was pretty abnormal.

So now I am sitting watching football and getting ready to eat some mac and cheese.  My jaw hurts a little, nothing too bad, just kindof annoying.  I am taking some random pain pills (not vicoden sadly), which seems to be helping a little.

  • Almost there

Wow, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my back.  Today I finished my classes.  This was one of the hardest weeks I have ever had for school.  I had multiple projects, tests and presentations all due in a few day time period.  I went with very little sleep and some how I have survived the whole thing.  Now I only have to look forward to two finals at the end of next week, but right now I don't even care, I am reveling in the freedom that I can experience for even a day or two before I begin studying for the tests.  I also got to sell back half my books yesterday.  That was a great midweek pick-me-up.  I made back about half of what I spent on those books so that was nice.  Hopefully I can do as well on the other half next week

    Ruts

I feel like lately I am in a rut.  I go about my daily activities and everything seems mundane.  Even social activities have lost their flare.  I don't look forward to many things anymore.  Yesterday I lost all inspiration to do anything.  It was the most unproductive day I have had in a long time.  I need to get away, but that is not an option right now.  I can't wait till Thanksgiving.  I think a few extra days off, with some old friends will really help.

Maybe it has something to do with all the homework I have had lately.  It isn't the hardest stuff in the world, but it is all hanging over my head and I feel overwhelmed by it.  I just want to have it done, but everytime I go to work on it, there seems to be more that I didn't see at first glance.

Well enough with this rant.  I have to get back to the arguments for defending freedom of speech and forms of international business that would affect an company expansion.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.
